You've gotta be ****ing ****ing me, Marvel.

To start off, I'm going to precursor this by saying that this really doesn't have anything to do with Gambit. But, it just disturbed me so much, I thought I would share.

So, because I spend WAY too much time online, I stumbled across this the other night.

I'm a Marvel fan. I'm an Anime fan. You'd think I'd be pleased. But I'm not.

Excerpt:

Marvel Entertainment Inc., has partnered with renowned Japanese animation studio Madhouse (Paprika, Tokyo Godfathers) and multiple-Eagle Award winner Warren Ellis to create four all new anime versions of classic Marvel Super Heroes. Get an exciting first glimpse of Iron Man and Wolverine, two of the planned four Marvel Anime series!

These Marvel Anime TV series are being created as a way of merging the beloved Marvel Super Heroes of western culture with the bold animation tradition of Japan. The resulting product will be four visually groundbreaking anime series featuring popular Super Heroes redesigned and repurposed as emerging from the fabric of Japanese culture. The series is expected to begin appearing on the Animax channel in Japan in spring of 2010.

Trailer:

To put it as a friend of mine said, they're raping my childhood. I just don't understand the constant need to try and do more and more weird adaptations of the characters I know and love. Honestly, I just want corporations to stop fucking with the series that I know and love. I mean, XMen: Evolution already made me want to shoot people, and then "Wolverine and the Xmen" or some shit, and now this? To me, it's a bit much. I think it would be nice to just build upon the solid foundations of the comic series, instead of trying to come out with fifty dozen new things every year. It's getting ridiculous. I'll admit, artistically, this is very pretty, but I think at some point, the over-saturation of all things Marvel just... needs to stop.

And the abuse of Wolverine's story needs to just end. For serious. Somewhere, a dead horse is crying out for mercy.

All I've gotta say is: "You've gotta be fucking SHITTING me, Marvel."
